Anchovy is a 3-year-old Melbourne-based restaurant at the cross-roads where South East Asian flavours meets contemporary Australian cuisine. The restaurant is underscored by the ethos behind Asian dining - eating for nourishment and for enjoyment. Chef-Owner Thi Le\u2019s deftness with balance and flavours has allowed Anchovy to be recognised as rising star in the Melbourne dining scene. Whilst Vietnamese by heritage, Thi\u2019s style of food is framed by her influences as an Asian-Australian, and her upbringing within the migrant class in Sydney\u2019s Western suburbs. The palate of Anchovy\u2019s dishes is very much influenced by Thi\u2019s childhood growing up amongst food-loving cultures . To date, some of Anchovy\u2019s greatest hits hark back to the distinct memory of Asian-Australian childhood joys from Vegemite and Keen\u2019s curry through to taro and fermented fish.
