Aptly named for its location beside the old post office, the award-winning Stamps Restaurant is quaintly tucked away on a leafy backstreet of Mitcham, Adelaide. But while the gorgeous heritage building with its vine entangled verandah exudes old-fashioned charm, Stamps’ seasonal menu is undeniably contemporary. With dishes that change frequently to emphasise fresh produce and the chef’s passion, spontaneity and talent, the locals are always coming back for more. Select from such options as miso glazed pork belly with Japanese pickled vegetables, cashews and kewpie mayonnaise before delving into mains such as roasted lamb rump with haloumi, hummus, spiced pickled eggplant and dukkah. Be sure to leave for tempting desserts like hazelnut vacherin with mocha cream and condensed milk jelly.
